They're moving into the space where Papa Murphy's used to be. Airdrie keeps adding to its restaurant scene, and this one is a little different from the usual fast-casual openings.

Pathway Burgers & Momos is coming to the Kings View Market in southeast Airdrie — specifically into the spot that used to be a Papa Murphy's. If you've driven that plaza recently and noticed the space changing over, now you know why.

What Is Pathway Burgers & Momos?

Pathway is a Nepalese-style restaurant that's already established in Calgary. They currently run two Calgary locations, and Airdrie will be their third.

The menu is a mix of traditional Nepalese dishes and Western comfort food — which is part of what makes it interesting. On the Nepalese side, you're looking at:

  • Momos — Nepalese-style dumplings, the item the restaurant is known for

  • Chowmein — stir-fried noodles done the Nepalese way

  • Soups and traditional dishes

On the Western side, they serve burgers and poutine as well. So if you've got a table with picky eaters, there's something for everyone.

As Brad puts it in the video: "What you'll find here is a mix of traditional dishes from Nepal — momos, chowmein, soups — and also some more Western items like burgers and poutine." Watch the breakdown at 0:17

Where Exactly Is It Going?

The Kings View Market is located in southeast Airdrie. Pathway is taking over the former Papa Murphy's location in that plaza. If you know the area, you'll know exactly where it is — it's a busy commercial strip that serves a big chunk of Airdrie's southeast communities.

The build-out is still in progress, which means there's no confirmed opening date yet. But the space is being prepared, and they're clearly moving forward.

When Is It Opening?

No exact date has been announced. As Brad says in the video: "I don't know exactly when they're planning to open yet. Of course, they still have work to do to get the restaurant built out and ready."

If you've tried their Calgary locations and know what to expect, drop a comment on the video and let him know. It helps give Airdrie residents a better idea of what's coming.

Why This Matters for Airdrie

New restaurants get a lot of attention in Airdrie, and for good reason — the city's commercial development has been playing catch-up to residential growth for years. Every new business that opens in a local plaza is a sign that Airdrie's market is maturing.

Kings View Market specifically sits in an area that serves a large and growing population in the southeast. A new restaurant there — especially one with an established track record in Calgary — has a decent chance of doing well.

This kind of growth is exactly what we're seeing across Airdrie right now, from new recreational facilities like Pickleplex moving into the old Peavy Mart location, to new schools and community infrastructure being built out. The city is filling in fast — and that's good news for anyone who owns property here, or is thinking about buying.

If you want to stay updated on what's new and changing in Airdrie — business openings, development news, neighbourhood updates — this is the kind of content Brad tracks so you don't have to. There's also a new Francophone school going up in the Reunion community in northwest Airdrie, expected to be ready by 2027, if you're following the city's broader growth.

What To Know If You Live in Southeast Airdrie

If you live in Big Springs, King's Heights, or any of the other SE communities near Kings View Market, this is a new dining option that's coming to your corner of the city. Momos, in particular, are worth trying if you haven't had them before — they're a staple of Nepalese cuisine and the kind of dish that tends to build a loyal following quickly.

Keep an eye on the Kings View plaza over the coming weeks. When they're close to opening, you'll start to see activity.
