Is the Chinook Winds Spray Park Open in Airdrie for 2026?

Yes — the Chinook Winds Park spray park is officially open for the 2026 season in Airdrie. It runs daily from 10:00am to 8:00pm throughout the summer. The park also includes a skate park, playground, beach volleyball courts, a concession stand, and washrooms — making it one of the most complete outdoor recreation spots in the city.

Summer in Airdrie is finally here — and one of the city’s most popular outdoor spots just flipped the switch.

The spray park at Chinook Winds Park is open, and with temperatures in the low 20s this weekend and staying warm into next week, the timing couldn’t be better.

Chinook Winds Spray Park Hours and Details

Here’s what you need to know for the 2026 season:

  • Hours: Daily, 10:00am – 8:00pm

  • Season: Open throughout the summer

  • Cost: Free to use

  • Location: Chinook Winds Park, Airdrie, AB

The spray park is completely free — just show up. It’s a genuine community staple, and one of those features that Airdrie families who live here all summer long take full advantage of.

More Than Just the Spray Park

If you’ve never been to Chinook Winds Park, the spray pad is just one piece of what’s there. In the same area you’ve got:

  • A skate park

  • A playground

  • Beach volleyball courts

  • A concession stand

  • Washrooms on site

You can easily spend half a day out here with kids and not run out of things to do. That’s rare for a single park location, and it’s one of the reasons Chinook Winds stays busy all summer.

Why This Matters for Airdrie Residents

Amenities like Chinook Winds Park are part of what makes Airdrie such a strong community for families. Free, accessible, well-maintained outdoor recreation — within easy reach of most neighbourhoods — is genuinely part of the value proposition when people ask me why they should consider Airdrie over the Calgary suburbs.

And Airdrie isn’t slowing down on this front. The city has been expanding its amenity base steadily — new restaurants like Fazoli’s Italian at Kingsview Market, new commercial development with South Point Village Phase 2 coming online in 2026, and the new Southwest Recreation Centre breaking ground next year.

For people who are on the fence about making the move — this is the kind of city that keeps building out the reasons to stay.
