Airdrie just added another reason golfers won't need to pack up their clubs for the winter.
Back Nine Golf is currently building out their newest location in South Point Village — that's the commercial area in the southwest part of the city. If you've driven through the area recently, you may have already noticed the buildout underway.
What Is Back Nine Golf?
Back Nine Golf is an indoor golf simulator franchise with locations across Canada. They operate 24/7 simulator bays — meaning you can book a tee time at 2 a.m. if that's when you feel like working on your game.
Their setup uses Full Swing Pro 2.0 simulators — the same technology used by tour-level players. These aren't arcade games. They track ball flight, spin, and club data in real time, giving you the kind of feedback you'd normally only get from a launch monitor session at a pro shop.
As of right now, Back Nine Golf has six locations across Canada. The Airdrie location will be their third in Alberta. (Watch Brad break this down at 0:15)
What to Expect at the Airdrie Location
The Airdrie Back Nine Golf is going into South Point Village, the commercial strip in the southwest corner of the city. The space is actively being built out right now. (Watch Brad's drive-by at 0:07)
One thing that stands out: the Airdrie location won't be members-only. Most Back Nine Golf locations have some form of exclusive membership access, but the Airdrie spot is expected to be open to both members and non-members — with members getting priority access when things get busy. That's a nice setup if you want to try it before committing to a membership.
They also provide 24/7 access to the facility, which is the core of the Back Nine model. You're not locked into business hours. Book when it works for you.
When Does Back Nine Golf Airdrie Open?
No official date has been announced yet. The space is under active construction right now, so opening is coming — just a matter of when. Brad will post updates as soon as there's word on a date. Follow along on YouTube or Instagram to stay in the loop.
In the meantime, this is another signal of how fast southwest Airdrie is growing. The SW is filling in quickly — between new residential communities and commercial buildouts like this one, there's a lot happening on that side of the city. If you're a golfer who just moved to one of Airdrie's newer neighbourhoods in the SW, having a 24/7 indoor golf option within a few minutes' drive is a solid perk.
