The Airdrie Children's Business Fair 2026 is a community event happening Sunday, August 16 from 1–4pm at the Town & Country Centre in Airdrie, Alberta. Thirty-six young entrepreneurs — all kids — will be showcasing and selling their own products and services. The event is free to attend, and attendees are encouraged to bring some cash to support these young business owners. It's one of the best things happening in Airdrie this weekend.

The Airdrie Children's Business Fair is this Sunday — and if you've never been to one, you're in for something genuinely impressive.
This isn't a school fundraiser. These are kids who came up with a business idea, built it out, made (or sourced) their products, priced everything, and are now showing up to sell it themselves. Real entrepreneurship, on a small scale, with big confidence.

Brad put out the word to get a big turnout for these kids this weekend — and for good reason. Events like this thrive or fade based on community support. If you show up, spend a few dollars, and make some kid's day by buying their product, that's the kind of thing they remember for a long time.
Why the Airdrie Children's Business Fair Is Worth Your Sunday Afternoon
Children's Business Fairs are a concept that started spreading across North America over the past decade — the idea is simple: give kids a structured, real-world venue to pitch and sell their own products, with actual customers and actual money changing hands.
Past events like this in other communities have included handmade candles, pet treats, baked goods, jewelry, artwork, slime kits, knitted items, woodworking, and all kinds of creative ventures that you wouldn't expect from kids. The range is always surprising.
With 36 businesses set up this year, Airdrie's version is a solid-sized event. That's a lot of variety — and a lot of kids who are going to remember how their first market day went.
If you've got kids of your own, this is also worth seeing just to get them thinking about what's possible. Watching another kid their age run a business has a way of sparking ideas.
Airdrie Keeps Showing Up for Its Community
What I keep seeing in Airdrie is a city that actually backs its community events. The batting cages going into Fletcher Park — funded entirely by Airdrie Little League — is another recent example. Local groups organizing, local people showing up.
That's not an accident. It's one of the things that makes Airdrie a genuinely good place to live — not just in theory, but in practice.
If you're newer to Airdrie or considering a move here, I'd actually recommend coming to something like this. You get a real feel for the city and the people who live here. That's harder to get from a Google search than you'd think.
