Is there an Osmow’s Shawarma in Airdrie?

Osmow’s Shawarma officially opened its Airdrie location at Kingsview Market — the commercial plaza next to Save-On-Foods in northwest Airdrie. This is Airdrie’s first Osmow’s location. The chain operates over 200 locations across Canada, making it one of the country’s most recognized shawarma restaurants. If you haven’t been yet, it’s now on your doorstep.

Airdrie just got a new shawarma spot — and it’s one worth knowing about.

Osmow’s Shawarma has officially opened at Kingsview Market, the commercial strip right next to the Save-On-Foods in northwest Airdrie. If you’ve been waiting for more food options close to home, this is exactly the kind of addition that rounds out the neighbourhood.

What Is Osmow’s Shawarma?

Osmow’s isn’t a new concept — the chain has been building across Canada for years and now has over 200 locations nationwide. That scale usually means a consistent product, and the reviews at other locations have been strong.

The menu centres on shawarma — seasoned rotisserie meat (chicken, beef, or mixed) served in wraps, over rice, or with fries, topped with garlic sauce and fresh fixings. It’s fast, filling, and the kind of food that builds a regular lunch crowd quickly.

If you’ve had Osmow’s at another location before, Brad covers the opening at 0:00 and wants to hear what you thought — drop a comment on the video.

Where Is the Airdrie Osmow’s Located?

The Airdrie location is at Kingsview Market in the Kingsview neighbourhood of northwest Airdrie — specifically in the plaza by the Save-On-Foods.

Kingsview is one of the more established northwest communities in Airdrie, and the Kingsview Market plaza has been a core commercial strip for that side of the city for years. Adding Osmow’s to that mix makes it a stronger destination for the lunch and dinner crowd.

If you’re already doing your grocery run at that Save-On-Foods, you’ll have no trouble finding it — it’s right there in the same complex.

Why This Matters for Airdrie Residents

Airdrie has been adding population fast. More residents means more demand for local dining options — and historically, Airdrie has had to wait longer than it should for national brands to show up.

Every time a chain like Osmow’s chooses Airdrie over Calgary, it’s a signal the market is mature enough to support it. With over 200 locations across Canada, Osmow’s knows where the demand is — and they’ve decided it’s here.

For residents in Kingsview, Williamstown, Ravenswood, and the northwest corridor generally, this is a direct quality-of-life upgrade. You don’t have to drive to Calgary for a solid shawarma anymore.

That’s not a small thing. The more Airdrie can offer within its own boundaries, the more attractive it becomes to buyers looking for the space and value of a smaller city without giving up everyday conveniences.

Brad’s Take

I haven’t been in yet — but I’m planning to fix that soon.

What I can tell you is that Osmow’s tends to build a loyal customer base fast. The people I’ve talked to who’ve had it at other locations don’t just like it — they go back regularly.

If you’ve already made the trip to the new Kingsview Market location, let Brad know in the comments on the video. What did you order? Was the lineup crazy? That firsthand intel matters to everyone in the community who’s still on the fence.

More Commercial Growth Coming to Airdrie

Osmow’s is one piece of a bigger picture.

Airdrie is in the middle of a commercial growth wave that’s adding retail, dining, and services at a pace the city hasn’t seen before. On the southwest side, Vantage Commons — a 12.5-acre, grocery-anchored shopping centre at 24th Street and Vantage Way — is in development and will bring a significant new retail hub to that part of the city. I’ve broken that down in detail here: Vantage Commons Airdrie: New SW Shopping Centre Explained.

The pattern across Airdrie is consistent: the city is growing up commercially to match its residential growth. Residents who moved here five years ago because the housing was affordable are now finding they don’t have to leave for most of what they need.

That shift matters for real estate too. Neighbourhoods with more walkable amenities — good grocery stores, solid dining options, retail nearby — hold their value and attract more demand. Kingsview’s commercial corridor is getting stronger, and that’s good news for everyone who owns or is considering buying in that part of the city.

Keeping Up with Airdrie

Part of what I do as a local realtor is stay plugged into everything happening in the city — not just listings and market stats, but the businesses opening, the infrastructure being built, the developments in the pipeline.

If something is changing in Airdrie, I’m going to be talking about it.
