Where Is the New Ground Press Coffee & Books Location in Airdrie?
Ground Press Coffee & Books has opened its third Airdrie location inside Genesis Place recreation centre as of March 19, 2026. The new café is in the food court area and is open seven days a week — making it one of the most convenient coffee stops in the city for families and rec centre regulars.
If you spend any time at Genesis Place — whether it's hockey, swimming, fitness classes, or dropping the kids off — you've probably noticed there's a new coffee option waiting for you in the food court.
Ground Press Coffee & Books officially opened their third Airdrie location today, March 19, 2026, right inside the rec centre. And honestly? It's a pretty smart spot for it.
Ground Press Keeps Growing in Airdrie
Ground Press Coffee & Books has become one of Airdrie’s most recognizable local coffee brands — and this new Genesis Place location marks their third footprint in the city.
What makes this location stand out is the setting. Genesis Place is one of the busiest facilities in Airdrie, drawing families, athletes, and community members throughout the week. Having a quality local coffee shop embedded right in the food court means you no longer have to run out to a drive-through before or after your workout — it's already there.
The new spot is open 7 days a week, which lines up well with the rec centre's schedule. Early morning swim meets, weekend hockey games, evening fitness classes — Ground Press will be there.
Why This Matters for Airdrie Residents
Airdrie has been growing fast — and one of the things that makes a city feel like a real community is having local, independent businesses show up in the spaces where people already spend their time.
Ground Press isn’t a chain. They’re an Airdrie business that started here and keeps expanding here. That’s worth paying attention to.
It’s also a sign of something bigger: as Airdrie grows, the amenities are growing with it. More local options, more convenience, more reasons to stay in the city rather than driving into Calgary for things you used to have to go looking for.
If you’re newer to Airdrie — or considering the move — this is the kind of thing that adds up. The city keeps maturing, and Ground Press at Genesis Place is a small but visible piece of that.
I covered a few similar stories recently worth checking out — Beaners Fun Cuts just opened in Kings Heights, and if you’re curious about the newest communities growing near Genesis Place, the Spring Valley community update is worth a read.
How to Find It
The new Ground Press location is inside Genesis Place at 800 East Lake Blvd NE, Airdrie — in the food court area. Open 7 days a week.
If you’re already heading to the rec centre, you know where to go. If you haven't been to Genesis Place in a while, now you’ve got one more reason to stop by.
