What Is the Airdrie 311 Number and What Can You Use It For?
The City of Airdrie has launched a 311 non-emergency line for residents. If you live within Airdrie city limits, you can now dial 311 to report infrastructure issues — potholes, burnt-out street lights, broken city fences — or ask questions about city programs like garbage collection, snow removal, street sweeping, and upcoming city events. It's a single point of contact for anything city-related that isn't an emergency.

Well, Airdrie is doing some big city things these days.
We just got our black bins this month — finally bringing us into the 2000s — and now the City of Airdrie has officially rolled out a 311 non-emergency line for residents.
If you're not familiar with 311, here's the short version: it's a single phone number you can call for anything city-related that isn't a police, fire, or medical emergency. Think of it as your direct line to City Hall — without the runaround.
What You Can Report or Ask About by Calling 311 in Airdrie
This is a practical tool. Here's what you can use it for:
Potholes — spot one on your street or commute? Call it in.
Burnt-out street lights — instead of wondering who to tell, now you just dial 311.
Broken city fences or damaged infrastructure — anything the city maintains.
Garbage collection questions — missed pickup, bin issues, schedule changes.
Snow removal — when's your street getting plowed, or why hasn't it been yet.
Street sweeping schedules — especially useful as we head into spring.
City events and services — recreation programs, community events, facility hours.
As long as you're within the City of Airdrie limits, the 311 line is available to you.
Why This Matters as Airdrie Keeps Growing
This is one of those quiet upgrades that actually says a lot about where Airdrie is headed.
A 311 line is something you typically see in larger cities — Calgary has had one for years. The fact that Airdrie is implementing it now signals that the city is scaling its services to match its growth. And if you've been paying attention, Airdrie has been growing fast. New neighbourhoods, new construction, more families moving in every month.
When a city grows, so do the demands on infrastructure. More roads, more street lights, more garbage routes, more questions from residents who are new to the area and don't know where to go for answers. A 311 line solves that. One number, one point of contact.
If you're considering a move to Airdrie, this is the kind of thing that shows the city is investing in the resident experience — not just building homes, but building the services around them. That's a big deal when you're comparing the pros and cons of living in Airdrie.
A Sign of a Maturing City
Between the new black bin program and now the 311 line, Airdrie is clearly levelling up its municipal services. These aren't flashy announcements — they're the kind of behind-the-scenes infrastructure improvements that make day-to-day life better for residents.
And that's something I keep an eye on as a local realtor. When buyers ask me what it's actually like to live here — not just the house, but the experience of living in Airdrie — it's these details that matter. Good city services, responsive infrastructure, a municipality that's keeping pace with growth. Those are real reasons people choose to move to Airdrie.
It's also worth knowing how your Airdrie property taxes fund services like these. The 311 line is a direct result of the city reinvesting in resident-facing infrastructure — and that's your tax dollars at work.
Airdrie is one of the fastest-growing cities in Alberta, and the 311 line is just one more sign that the city's services are keeping up with that pace.
So next time you spot a pothole on your street or have a question about garbage day — don't Google it. Just dial 311.
If you've got questions about what's happening in Airdrie — or if you're thinking about buying or selling — I'm always happy to chat. Call or text me anytime.
