Ravenswood | Airdrie Neighbourhoods

If we look at a map of Airdrie, Ravenswood is actually quite a small neighbourhood, there’s only about 1,000 homes here give or take. There’s also actually 8.2 hectares of green space throughout the community, including 4 playgrounds, and 2.4 km of pathway that connect to other surrounding areas. In addition to the outdoor options here, you are just a short drive from Airdrie’s only rec center right now, which is just north of Ravenswood about a 5 minute drive away. Here you’ll have all the sport and fitness amenities, as well as East Lake, which has tennis courts, soccer fields, and even more walking paths.

Now, as for shopping and amenities around Ravenswood, there aren't any commercial spaces connected directly to the neighbourhood. But being right on Yankee Valley Boulevard means that you’re just a couple minutes from the Kings Heights shopping area, which includes a Save-on-Foods, lots of restaurants, banks, and other businesses. That also means that you’re just a short distance from Highway 2 which gives you quick access to Costco and Cross Iron Mills mall too.

One thing you do have right inside the neighbourhood here is schools! Ravenswood has two schools directly in the community, one of which is Airdrie's only Francophone school that serves all the way from kindergarten to grade 12. As for public schools, kids kindergarten to grade 5 will attend Heloise Lorimer School, which is the second school right in the neighbourhood. These two schools are super walkable, at most about a 10 minute walk from your home. Your middle schoolers, grade 6-8 will go to Meadowbrook Middle School, which is just on the north side of Yankee Valley Boulevard, and kids grade 9-12 will attend Bert Church High School, which is a bit more north as well beside the rec center.

Moving onto the properties that you’ll find, there are a combination of townhomes, duplexes, and detached homes available in various sizes, styles, and price tags. They started being built in 2008, and even though its a fairly small neighbourhood, they’re still finishing up building out Ravenswood here in 2023.

As for prices currently, townhouses are selling between around $350,000 and $425,000 and all of the townhouses in here are condo’d, meaning you will have a condo fee accociated with them. For a semi-detached home, you can expect to pay around $450,000-$500,00 or so, although these don't come up for sale very often. Then for detached homes, which make up for about 2/3rds of the neighbourhood, they’re going to be anywhere from $500,000-$800,000. Also, the brand new front attached garage homes are starting in the mid $700s.
