Well, Ron Ebbesen just got a lot more interesting.
Pour Decisions Billiards & Game Room is coming to Airdrie — and they've taken over the former restaurant space inside Ron Ebbesen Arena to make it happen. The build-out is underway right now, and the plan is to have it open sometime this October.
If you spend any time at Ron Ebbesen — especially with hockey season kicking back into gear — this is one to have on your radar.
Who Is Pour Decisions?
Pour Decisions isn't a brand-new concept. Their original location opened in 2024 at 1312 17 Ave SW in Calgary, right on the Red Mile. The whole idea behind the business was simple: bring billiards back to 17th Avenue. And by all accounts, it worked. They've built a solid following for delivering a fun, laid-back atmosphere with good games and good drinks.
Now they're bringing that same formula to Airdrie — and they've chosen one of the busiest community hubs in the city to do it.
What to Expect at Ron Ebbesen
The Airdrie location is being built out specifically with the following in mind:
Pool tables — the cornerstone of the Pour Decisions experience
Golf simulator — a big draw for the Airdrie crowd year-round
Table games — darts, board games, and similar entertainment
Food and drinks — this isn't just a game room; it's a full evening spot
That combination of pool, golf simulator, and food is exactly what made their Calgary location popular. Watch Brad break this down at the 0:08 mark.
It's also worth noting: this is the second location for Pour Decisions, which tells you that the model is working. Businesses don't expand unless the numbers make sense — and choosing Airdrie, specifically the Ron Ebbesen Arena footprint, shows they see real demand here.
Why This Makes Sense for Airdrie
Think about the traffic that flows through Ron Ebbesen on a typical winter night. Hockey parents dropping kids for practice. Adult rec league players. Families coming to watch games. It's one of the busier social nodes in the city from September through March.
The restaurant space that previously occupied the arena never quite became the go-to hang-out spot. A game room — with pool, golf, and drinks — has a better shot at that. Hear Brad's take on the timing at the 0:30 mark.
And the timing matters. Opening in October puts them right at the beginning of hockey season, which is exactly when that traffic is at its peak. If they can capture that crowd early, they've got a built-in repeat customer base through spring.
Airdrie's entertainment and dining options have grown a lot in the past year or two — from new restaurants to recreational amenities like the upcoming Wildflower community pool and Rocky Mountain Mini Golf. Pour Decisions fits right into that momentum.
What This Means If You Live in Airdrie
More options for evenings out without having to drive into Calgary. A dedicated space at Ron Ebbesen where you can stay after your kid's game or grab a round of pool before yours. Golf simulator access in the city, which is increasingly popular during the Alberta off-season.
It's a net positive for the community — and for anyone who's been on the fence about the Airdrie lifestyle, it's another mark in the quality of life column.
I'll keep an eye on the opening timeline and share an update when there's a firm date. If you're curious about what else is happening in Airdrie — or if you've been thinking about making a move here — feel free to reach out anytime.
