What You Need to Know About the South Point Village Vacancy in Airdrie

If you were looking forward to a Paris Baguette opening at South Point Village in Airdrie, it's not happening. The Paris Baguette that was planned for the large standalone building in that complex has fallen through, and the space is now back up for lease.

The Space & Location

• 5,800 sq ft commercial unit in South Point Village, Airdrie

• Second largest unit in the complex, next to the daycare across the parking lot

• Previously proposed as Wow Chicken, then Paris Baguette — both deals fell through

• Currently available for lease as of January 2026

A Spot With History

This particular unit has had a run of false starts. The space was first earmarked for Wow Chicken, which didn't move forward. Then Paris Baguette — the popular South Korean-based bakery café chain — was announced as the tenant. Now that deal has also fallen through. The 5,800 sq ft space is one of the more prominent in the South Point Village shopping area, and whoever eventually lands it will have strong visibility and traffic from the surrounding neighbourhood.

About South Point Village Airdrie

South Point Village is a retail development in the South Point neighbourhood in southeast Airdrie. It serves a fast-growing residential area and is one of the newer commercial nodes in the city. The complex includes a mix of services and food tenants, with the daycare being one of the anchor tenants. The 5,800 sq ft vacant unit is a significant piece of the retail mix that residents are still waiting to see filled.
