Why Are the Neuron Scooters Gone from Airdrie?
The orange Neuron scooters have been removed from Airdrie, but it's not a permanent ban. Lime has acquired Neuron in Canada, so the orange scooters are being phased out and replaced with Lime's recognizable bright green scooters. The transition was expected to take just a few days.

What Happened to Neuron Scooters in Canada
Neuron Mobility, the Australian-founded micro-mobility company that operated e-scooter programs in several Canadian cities including Airdrie, was acquired by Lime. Lime is one of the largest shared micro-mobility operators in the world, known for their bright green e-scooters and e-bikes.
As part of the transition, Neuron's fleet is being swapped out for Lime hardware. For Airdrie, that meant the orange scooters were pulled temporarily while the changeover happened. The green Lime scooters were set to appear in the city within days of the transition.
What to Expect with Lime Scooters in Airdrie
Lime operates in hundreds of cities globally and has a well-established app and payment system. If you used Neuron, the switch to Lime should be straightforward — download the Lime app, find a scooter, and go.
Whether you're a scooter fan or you'd prefer they weren't around at all, they're here to stay. The city's partnership continues — just with a different brand and a new shade of green.
