Proposed Townhouse Development in Kings Heights Enters Community Outreach Phase
The proposed townhouse development on the empty lot in Airdrie’s Kings Heights neighbourhood has an update. The developer is currently conducting community outreach ahead of the formal public hearing for the required land use redesignation. A website with project information and a community contact form has been created for residents who want to learn more or ask questions.
What’s Being Proposed?
The developer is seeking a land use change that would allow townhouses to be built on the currently empty lot in Kings Heights. This type of redesignation is a multi-step process, and here’s where things currently stand:
Community outreach (current stage) — the developer has launched a website with FAQs and a contact form for Kings Heights and Ravenswood residents to engage with the project team
Public hearing — scheduled later in 2026 as part of the formal land use redesignation process
Subdivision — if the land use change is approved, subdivision of the lot follows
Development permits — then actual building permits would be applied for
Construction — the actual building of the townhouse complex would come last
