Ground Press Coffee & Books Is Opening Two New Airdrie Locations in 2026
Airdrie's favourite local coffee shop and bookstore is growing. Ground Press Coffee & Books has announced plans to open two brand-new locations inside the city's top recreational facilities — one at the Inspire Multi-Use Facility and one at Genesis Place Rec Centre. Both locations are currently under construction as of January 2026.
Location 1: Inside the Inspire Multi-Use Facility
The first new Ground Press location will open inside the Inspire Multi-Use Facility in southwest Airdrie. Inspire is already home to hockey arenas, a fieldhouse, and a range of community programming — and now residents visiting for sports, events, or workouts will be able to grab a coffee or browse books while they're there.
Location 2: Inside Genesis Place Rec Centre
The second location will be inside the cafeteria area at Genesis Place, Airdrie's main rec centre. Genesis Place sees heavy daily traffic from swimmers, gym-goers, and arena visitors — making it a natural fit for a coffee shop. Grabbing a Ground Press latte before your morning swim or after a hockey game is about to get a lot more convenient.
Timeline: No Official Opening Dates Yet
As of January 7, 2026, both locations are still under construction and no official opening dates have been confirmed. Ground Press has not yet shared firm timelines, but both are expected to open sometime in 2026. Keep an eye on their social channels for updates.
