Located in southwest Airdrie, Chinook Gate is family-friendly parkside community where people get outdoors and get active, because if you live here you have the coolest extended backyard in the city, Chinook Winds Park.
The neighbourhood is directly connected to Chinook Winds Park, which is a 55-acre recreation area that offers four seasons of fun for everyone. Including kilometres of paved pathways, 2 playgrounds, Airdrie's only skatepark & splash park, multi-use court/ice rink, public washrooms, a concession, 4 volleyball courts, and 8 ball diamonds.
Chinook Gate is one of our newer neighborhoods in Airdrie, only breaking ground in 2018. It will eventually will be home to approximately 2,300 residents and have about 11 acres of green space and ponds. Completion for the community is projected to be sometime in 2027, so there’s still plenty of time to build a new home here.

Here, you have the unique opportunity to enjoy the charm of a small-town lifestyle without sacrificing all the amenities of a big city. You get quick access to Yankee Valley Boulevard for easy travel within Airdrie and out of town, but you’re far enough away to have a bit of a slower feel here.
At the heart of Chinook Gate is the community playground where you can easily meet your neighbours, and with how many families are in the area, your kids are sure to meet some new friends as well!
There are no schools as of now, but there is a future school site located on Chinook Gate Boulevard SW, though we don’t have a lot of details on that school at this point. Your Kids grade K-8 are currently zoned for Herons Crossing School located in Williamstown, which is a fair distance away, so walking really wont really be an option here. This of course will likely change when the school is built right in the community. Kids grade 9-12 are currently zoned George McDougall High School.
As for homes in the area, we have 3 builders with a variety of duplexes and detached homes in the area, as well as some townhomes in future phases as well. Our 3 builders in here are Brookfield Residential, McKee Homes, and Excel Homes. The starting cost of duplexes currently are in the $400s, laned homes in the $500s, and front drive homes in the $600s.
One thing to note is that there is a HOA in charge of enhanced maintenance to support curb appeal including landscaping, flowers, pathways, and seasonal lights during the holidays. The fee is approximately $125 per year, though we won’t have a firm number likely until the neighbourhood is finished being built.
