Every December, Airdrie comes alive with the Festival of Lights — a free, family-friendly event that runs nightly through the holiday season. If you haven't been yet, it's one of the best ways to get outside, enjoy the city, and get into the Christmas spirit without spending a dime.
Event Details
The Airdrie Festival of Lights typically runs daily through December 31st, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The event is held at the park along Nose Creek, giving attendees a scenic walk-through light display in one of Airdrie's most picturesque natural settings.
Is There an Admission Fee?
Admission to the Festival of Lights is free. Organizers do ask for a voluntary donation to help cover the costs of the event — and a portion of the proceeds go to local nonprofits and youth groups in Airdrie. A tap donation system is available on-site, so there's no need to bring cash.
Santa Visits at the Festival
Santa Claus makes special appearances at the Festival of Lights in the days leading up to Christmas. In 2025, Santa was scheduled to appear on December 20th and 21st from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
